01 The edge

Why baseboards and flooring go together.

Floating floors, including many luxury vinyl plank products, need a small expansion space along the walls. Baseboards cover that edge, so the floor can move with temperature while the room still looks finished.

New flooring can also change the floor height, and existing baseboards often have to come off before the new floor goes in. That is why baseboards are best planned as part of the flooring scope, not as an afterthought.

02 Finish

The details you notice.

  • Joints at inside and outside corners
  • Cuts where baseboards meet door casings
  • A consistent fit against both the wall and the new floor

These are the lines your eye follows around a room. When they are clean, a new vinyl plank or tile floor looks intentional.

03 The work

How baseboards fit into the job.

  1. Planned with the flooring

Baseboards are included in the flooring scope and estimate when you want them.

  2. Before the new floor

If existing baseboards need to come off for the new floor, that is planned in the scope.

  3. Installation

Baseboards go in after the floor is down, with attention to corners and door casings.

  4. Cleanup

The work area is cleaned up at the end of the job.
